Come prepared. Build faster.
Prepare your photos, logo, music, sets, links and booking details before you begin.
Before you start, it helps to have these ready:
High-quality photos
Gather a few current, professional shots for your Press Kit.
- Portrait (vertical) shots
- Landscape (horizontal) shots
- High-resolution files
- A few different options to choose from
Logo
Have a clean logo file ready.
- PNG with a transparent background
- A high-resolution version
- A version that works on both dark and light backgrounds, if you have one
Releases and music
For every release you want to show, prepare:
- Release title
- Release artwork
- Spotify link
- Beatport link
- YouTube link
- Or any other relevant music link
Keep each release together and clearly labelled, so it is obvious which artwork and which link belong to it.
Sets
Collect the links to the sets you want to feature:
- SoundCloud
- YouTube
- Mixcloud
- Or another supported service
If a set has its own cover image, have that ready too.
Videos
Pull together:
- Show footage
- Promo videos
- Music videos
- Live footage
- Anything else you want to feature
Where possible, use a public shareable link rather than uploading heavy video files you do not need to upload.
Platform and social links
Have your official links ready for:
- TikTok
- Spotify
- Apple Music
- Beatport
- SoundCloud
- YouTube
- And any other platform you want to show
Booking and contact
Prepare:
- Contact / booking name
- Email address
- Agency details, if you have one
- Anything else you want to appear in the Press Kit
Set up a tidy Google Drive folder first
Before you start, create one main Google Drive folder for your Press Kit and keep everything inside it.
Press Kit - Artist Name
Every approved professional photo. Label portrait and landscape shots so they are easy to tell apart.
All official logo files, including a transparent PNG if you have one.
Release artwork and related material. Name each file clearly so you instantly know which release it belongs to.
Cover images and supporting material for your sets. Keep the actual SoundCloud / YouTube links organised separately.
Video files or supporting material. Where possible, link directly to the video service instead of uploading heavy files to Drive.
Anything else that could be useful for the Press Kit.
Google Drive sharing permissions
Important: before you paste a Google Drive link, make sure the file or folder is set to be viewable through the link.
For anything you intentionally want reachable from your Press Kit, the sharing setting should be the equivalent of “Anyone with the link can view”.
Do not make your entire Google Drive public. Give link-viewing access only to the specific files or folders you actually want to share.
Open the link in a private / Incognito window and confirm it opens without asking for permission.
Keep each category separate
- Photos: a dedicated photos folder
- Logo: a dedicated logo folder or file
- Releases: clearly named artwork files
- Sets: individual public set links
- Videos: individual video links
- Extra downloadable media: its own Drive link where needed
When the Studio asks you for something, the goal is that you know straight away where to find it.
Tip
Give your files clear, recognisable names.
- ArtistName_Portrait_01.jpg
- ArtistName_Landscape_01.jpg
- ReleaseName_Cover.jpg
- ArtistName_Logo_Transparent.png
- IMG_4837.jpg
- final-final2.png
Organised file names make the Press Kit faster to build and much easier to update later.
